I spend a lot of time writing – for clients, for our blog, etc. – and mostly do so in platforms that are surrounded by distractions. Even though I have most of my alerts turned off, it’s too easy to jump into another browser window, check email, etc. When I’m writing, I get more done more efficiently when there are little to no distractions – in the environment around me as well as on the screen.
I love how Ulysses solves this problem. I think of it like Evernote for writing, a well-organized set of writing projects where my actual writing is done in a minimalist setting. It syncs automatically to the cloud so your writing projects can be picked back up anywhere. They make conversion into different publishing formats easy, including one-click html set-up and instant publishing to WordPress or Medium.
