Lyft’s new app focuses on carpooling and public transport

Lyft today announced it’s redesigning its rider app to put more emphasis on sharing your ride — and to remind you the bus is also available. What it is: Among other new features, Lyft announced it would offer more options for users to share rides with each other if they’re going to the same destination. The app automatically compares prices between the options. This new mode is a successor to Lyft Line, the daily carpooling feature that allowed you to ride with people going your way for a discounted price.
